What attracted you to inContext?
What attracted me to inContext was their focus on people, how they really take care of their employees and their growth; working for a company that truly cares about my personal development really makes the difference. For me, this is the obvious way to do things as both the employer and the employees benefit from this approach; the more the employees grow, the more the company grows, and vice versa. I know that if I help the company grow, I’m indirectly helping myself and my coworkers too.
What are you hoping to contribute to inContext?
I’m hoping to help a company like this grow. They are really doing it right, and I want to see companies that properly take care of their employees grow. Learning as much as I can in the assignments and helping transferring that information to my coworkers is the first most obvious way, but helping expanding to other industries or fields that I’m also passionate about is something that I would love to do at some point. But there are many other ways to help and contribute, those are just two.
Mention something about yourself that your colleagues do not already know?
I have the amazing super power of dislocating my thumbs at will. In a more serious note, I’m a space and Linux nerd, and I love programming. So surprise, surprise, I enjoy a lot working on my personal projects where I develop software for simulating interplanetary missions; the next step is simulating a rocket, and hopefully one day building a small one. And well, I’m a huge fan of NASA’s missions to the Moon, the Apollo missions; there is so much to learn from there, from every field, not only engineering.
Welcome to inContext Álvaro!
